On the Mayflower. !Death: Plymouth Church Records, in Publications of the Colonial Society of Mass, Vol.22, pg. 147: "on February, 24: dyed Mr. John Howland in his eightieth yeare, he was a good old disciple, & had bin sometime a magistrate here, a plaine-hearted christian". (Under 1672, and the only entry for that year, but I assume that is old style) His will, dated 29 May 1672, names ten children: eldest John, youngest Isaac, Jabez, Joseph, Desire, Hope, Elizabeth, Lydia, Hannah, Nathaniel, and Ruth.
