8th Baron Wigmore, 1st Earl of March. England nobleman. Having secured his position in Ireland against the Lacy family, he opposed the Despensers in Wales and was imprisoned (1322). Escaping to France, he returned to England (1326) as the paramour of Queen Isabella, and, after Edward II's deposition and death, virtually ruled England until executed by Edward III.
