Notes

A church record shows her death in 1853 from consumption. (Not from childbirth, as once conjectured) !Death-Parentage: Hale Collection on newspaper abstracts, page 601: "Weller, Maria, wife of R. M. daughter of Robert and Abigail Penny of Southeast, NY. died 29 Mar 1853." That notice appeared in the New Haven Palladium on 7 April 1853, however the CT state library does not have that paper on microfilm. The entry was indexes as Maria Penny (not Maria Weller). Found by Pauline <bmd101>. !Burial: Find-a-grave. Photo of tombstone, reads: Maria, wife of Royal M. Weller, died Mar. 28, 1853, Aged 34. Come home."
