On 12 Feb 1683, Benjamin Bartlett Sr. of Duxbury gave son Samuel 3 lots in Little Compton [MF:Warren:11]
In 1694 and 1704, Samuel Bartlett was chosen grand juryman for Duxbury [Duxbury town recs 184, 201, MF 16:75].
In March 1711/12, Samuel Bartlett served on a committee appointed to lay out a way "through the Woods from Plymouth to Weymouth nearer and more convenient than now it is". {Plymouth Co. Ct Recs 1:282, MF 16:75].
He died intestate. Letters of administration were granted on 9 Dec 1713 to his widow Hannah Bartlett. She gave bond along with William Brewster. His inventory was taken 15 Jan 1713/4 and included "that part of said Farm which did formerly belong to William Paybodie", a portion purchased from Rev. Mr. John Robinson, meadow at the Salt house beach, 40 acres in the first division of the commons in Duxbury and Pembroke, and a whole right in the second and last division of the commons. His real estate was divided on 1 Mar 1713/4, signed 19 Apr 1714, and divied out on 20 April 1714, to eldest son Benjamin [a double portion], Joseph the second son, Samuel the third son, and Ichabod the fourth son, with money to daughters Hannah, Elizabeth, Lydia and Sarah. The sons received teh farm and had to pay money for the account of their four sisters. [Plymouth Co. PR #1, 368, 3:255, 293-96]. Hannah was appointed guardian of four of the children on 19 Apr 1714: Ichabod, Elizabeth, and Lidia, all under 21, and Sarah under 14 [Plymouth Co. PR #1262, 3:298-300]. [MF 16:75].
Claims made at various points that he had sons Judah and William were disproved in TAG 37:141-50.
