He lived on "Hessian Hill", Croton-on-Hudson, Westchester Co., N.Y. He removed to Newburg, Orange Co., N.Y. and died there 1858. He died intestate, administration at Surrogate's office, Goshen, Orange Co., NY, adminstrator William E. Briggs and George C. Street, a son and a friend, 9 Dec 1858.
