Research Leads: There is a close match submitted by a member of the LDS church, batch 7734119 for a Sophia Christiana Schmidt b. 25 Jun 1817, bp. 6 Jul 1817 at Schweinfurt, Unterfranken, Bayern. Parents: Paul Christian Schmidt and Christiane Barbara Merck. The birth date is off by only 5 days, and the name is pretty close, but otherwise I would have to assume it is a different individual.
