History of Sangamon County, Illinois, pg. 671, says:
"Samuel D., born Sept. 22, 1812 in Tennessee, married in Sangamon county, April 12, 1832, to Nancy W. Haines. They had seven living children (lists them) Samuel D. Snodgrass died Aug. 31, 1862, and his widow Nancy W., resides one mile east of New City, Sangamon county, Ill.
Administration: Names Nancy Snodgrass his widow, Myra Rape, Malvina Rape, George W. Snodgrass, Arstilla Snodgrass, John Sanford Snodgrass, and Samuel Newton Snodgrass -- (then there is a space) I.B. Williams his children. Executor: I.B. Williams. Isaiah B. Williams signed his name with an X, but got nothing in the settlement. Each child got $77.50, and Nancy got $193.77. Signed 13th Sept 1862, clerk N.W. Martin.
