    Notes:
    James Carney had listed in parents as Thomas H. Holcombe (1526-c1579) and Margaret Trethfor d (1535-1576). However, Sarah Batterson has informed me (email of 24 Apr 2005) that there is some controversy over his parentage. Even more suspicious is that with the aforesaid parentage, this would indicate that he married his own niece. Sarah Batterson suggested that he may perhaps be a nephew of Thomas H. Holcombe instead. For now, I am unlinking him from this parentage until further information becomes available.
