BIRTH: Note: One entry (dau birth 7 Sep 1876) in New Fairfield VRs says Royal Weller is b. in "Nalistown, CT" age 23. Unfortunately, I cannot locate this town.. It also indicates he is older, b. c1853. Another record (first daughter 6 Oct 1874) gives his birthplace as Watertown, CT -- presumably that is what the first says also.

Notes:
The mother of Grace Lavinia (Weller) Williams was a daughter of Edward and Lavinia Jennings
, as proven by the 1900 census of the household of Edward and Lavinia Jennings. In addition, Edward Jennings is living in the household of David B. & Grace L. Williams in the 1910 census and labeled as "wife's father" [sic - s.b. gr father]. Edward and Lavinia had only two children, one of which was Edith Jennings, 1 yr old in 1860, the other was born after 1860. The remaining uncertainty is whether Edith is the mother of Grace Lavinia Weller, or whether her sibling is the mother. It is extremely likely, although not quite proven, that the true mother of Grace Lavinia Weller was Edith, and not her sibling. These circumstantial facts support this: (a) We don't know whether the sibling is a son or daughter -- if it is a son, then Edith is it, absolutely, (b) The other sibling was born after June 1, 1860, and so the oldest possible age for that sibling at the time of Grace Lavinia's birth would be 23, although probably younger, (c) The name Edith reoccurs in the Grace Lavinia's family -- e.g., her daughter was named Edith Grace Williams. Thus, we label this child with the name Edith.
Danbury City Directory, 1890: Mrs. Royal M. Weller, 15 Library Place, dressmaker. (Note: Since Royal M. Weller was listed in 1886, 1887, this is an indication for when he probably died).
